Advo’s HR Manager, Jenni Welch, introduces and outlines the changes all employers need to know.
“Last year, the Employment Rights Bill was published – a 150-page document that outlined around 28 employment law changes, hailed by the Government as “the biggest upgrade to rights at work for a generation”. After the amendments, the Bill now sits at over 300 pages. That’s a lot to get prepared for.
While we still don’t know the exact ins and outs of some of the proposals, we can highlight what’s included in the Bill and amendments and how they’re likely to impact businesses. Some experts are predicting we could see a rise in employment tribunal claims as the changes come into force, as we see changes to these employment law reforms and employers could be unprepared to deal with them, leaving business exposed to increase risk.
At Advo, our role is support you and we wish to ensure that you are mindful of new and upcoming legislation in order that there is awareness of potentially contentious employment issues so you can prepare for the future.
We make sure that you are equipped with up-to-date documentation, which is regularly revised in line with legislation and good practice.
In this update, we provide an overview of some forthcoming changes and focus on key areas that may affect your business. We do hope you find this a useful resource. If you have any questions at all, please contact the HR team at Advo at advohr@advo.co.uk”
