Founded in 1996, our name derives from ‘advocate’, meaning ‘trusted advisor’. We have learned, grown, adapted and transformed much in the years since, and now have the best Team ever.
Our people are our strongest asset. We call them ‘Advonians’ and admire the way each takes ownership of their client portfolio. Alongside the Advo Team, our other major investment has been in IT and the software our advisors use, which is constantly evolving.
We have 16 Payroll Advisors and 8 HR advisors and look after roughly 700 clients ranging in size from 2 employees to c.300. Most of our clients have between 25-50 employees.
Having recently acquired a country house as our new HQ, renovations are in progress to create a stylish and contemporary business and events hub in our local area.

Alison oversees our HR & Payroll client portfolios and all aspects of client services. She is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Personnel and Development and has worked in senior positions and at Board level within the HR profession for 25+ years. Her broad range of experience, including in-house and outsourced HR and payroll has been gained working both for large corporations and SME’s and as an external consultant advising a myriad of businesses in a wide range of industries
